A Look Inside the Mind...

Sorry for the brief post but my computer crashed and I'm typing mostly on an itty Droid phone keypad.

I think most of the readership on this blog are readers, but many readers also long to write.

If that's you, or you'd perhaps like a glimpse inside the mind of a publishing industry Great, Joan Marlow Golan, Executive Editor of Steeple Hill Books, she is featured in an interview today in Seekerville.

So, just out of curiosity, are you a reader, a writer or a wreader (both)? Comment away! I'd love to get a feel for the readership of our blog and what it mostly consists of. If you've been lurking...come out, come out wherever you are and let us get to know you better!

Oh and by the way, Steadfast Soldier hits stores in a couple of weeks. YAY! Not into soldier stories? Check out one or two or five of the other LI books releasing in June. We appreciate your readership! Both on this blog and of our books.

Bless you!

You are the reason we write. :-)

Hugs!

I am strictly a reader. I have no desire to write...I'll leave that up to you and the rest of the writers.

I am only a reader too. I love your books. My aunt has read the whole series twice. We can't wait for the next book. How many more in the series will be published?

Hey CHERYL!!!!

Lol....

I'm a reader, I'd say. I mean, I think it would be incredible to have half the talent of you (or any of the other LI authors/Seekers). However, I think it's one of those maybe someday type of thing. I highly doubt I'm creative enough, though!!

Sorry to hear about your computer. Hope it gets better soon!

Oh! And I CANNOT WAIT FOR STEADFAST SOLDIER!!!!!!!!!!!!! It'll be FANTASTIC I can already tell ; )

Talk to you soon,
*hugs*

Cheryl,

I'm a wreader (like that name). And, BTW, I received Steadfast Soldier in the mail last week. I am a subscriber to the LI and LIH lines so I get books early!

Truly loved the story as a reader. Read it in less than 24 hours. And it is a great story, beyond the soldier as hero...there is a dog as a character!

I am currently a reader, striving to become a writer.

I read Steadfast Soldier, and the book was so wonderful that I wanted to learn more about the author. Cheryl, thank you for sharing your talent. Looking up your web page is how I found Seekerville and this blog. Since I have become a follower of Seekerville, I have been blessed with practical information and knowledge to help me establish my dream and goals.

I am a reader with aspirations of writing if I could ever get the discipline to complete something. I've started a couple of projects...

A reader for sure. Don't usually take the time to write but promise to do more in the future.

I'm a wreader. I read much less than I used to now that I'm a writer, but I don't think the love of the written word ever goes away. Hope not.

Hi Brittanie!

Thank you for the kind words about my books. You rock! Tell your aunt I also appreciate her readership. Wow...she really read it twice? That just made my day.

The next book releases in June...Steadfast Soldier, if you haven't gotten it yet.

Then I hope to be able to have Brock's story contracted by the end of the year, which means it would release sometime in the next couple of years.

Then I will probably work on a new series that I hope you will love just as well or even better than Wings of Refuge.

Thanks for stopping by!

HANNAH!!!!!

Been missing you! SO glad you stopped by.

I hope you love Steadfast Soldier. The dog in that story is very special to me because we had a Lab like him for 17 years...same name too. Midnight.

So proud of you girl, and all your accomplishments. Keep up the great work. I totally need to get you in touch with my niece. She has much in common with you.

Best of luck to you! Keep me posted on your progress!

Many readers love character-driven stories...so get to it! Write that book. :-)

Julie, THANK YOU for your wonderful comments about Steadfast Soldier. I'm THRILLED that you liked it.

Midnight is fashioned after a dog we had growing up. I miss him! I was SO delighted, surprised and touched that the book artist depicted the dog on the cover.

I really appreciate your readership and hope I can always write each book better than the last.

Thank you for coming by!

Also, Sherri and all of you who wish to learn to write. Eharlequin has a GREAT community where you can learn to write.

In fact, that's what it's called. I spent a lot of time there and know that it helped me in my journey to publication.

Joining www.acfw.com and frequenting www.steeplehill.com (find the eharlequin writing forums) will be very beneficial to you in your own journeys.

Hope each and every one of you persevere!

And seriously, keep me posted on your progress, okay?

Kathy, I'm SO delighted you're enjoying Wings of Refuge.

I'm kinda sad that the series is coming to a close after Brock's story. Well, we'll hopefully see LOTS more of Refuge in coming books. And maybe catch glimpses of the PJs as they build their families. ;-)

Thank you for your faithful readership. I pray I never disappoint you!

Jan, be sure and check out Seekerville at www.seekerville.blogspot.com

We're a fun group of experienced writers who LOVE to mentor aspiring writers. We have lots of interesting guestbloggers too.

Check it out and be sure to say hi.

Also, www.acfw.com and www.steeplehill.com

The writing forums and sense of community at each of these places are very valuable.

We have excellent links to industry blogs too.

But don't let all the craft teachings overwhelm you. The best thing to do sometimes is to simply WRITE. And write. And write.

Being an avid reader (especially with the publisher and line of books you are targeting) is crucial too I think.

Best of luck! Keep me posted.
