Mementos from the past

Terri Reed here madly writing to finish a book by my deadline. Its been a trial to write during the holidays. I can't believe its already 2015.  27 years ago this coming May I married my college-sweetheart. We lived in Sacramento at the time and had our wedding in an old Victorian home near old town Sacramento. The place where so pretty and I felt like a princess.
Recently I unearthed my cake topper from a box in the garage. Its a music box, I think it played Here comes the Bride, however, its broken. I had it painted so that the bride would have red hair and the groom dark. Now that I've recovered it from the depths of my garage it sits on a shelf in my kitchen along with the tea cups my mother and a dear friend gave me which has started a tea cup collection.

Do you keep mementos from special occasions in your life?  How about collections?
I never set out to collect tea cups, but I love tea so it seems appropiate.

Hi Terri,
I don't exactly collect things, but do cherish the pieces my deceased Mom, made in ceramics. My daughter has some of them, too.

Happy New Year!

What a cute cake topper! I like that you had it painted to more closely resemble you and your groom.

I didn't realize you used to live in Sacramento, Terri. I'm just up the hill in Placerville. :-)

I tend to collect playing cards only because they remind me of my dad and how we used to play games all the time.
Hi Terri, Jackie and Keli!

Jackie, I have a bright pink crotched poncho that I wore for years as kid that my grandma made. I couldn't get my daughter to wear it because it was pink. LOL.

Keil, I live in Oregon now but grew up in Sonora and then moved to Sacramento to go to college. I drove through Placerville regularly and would stop at the A&W there for root beer floats.

Jennifer, what a nice what to remember your father. I

I love that you found your cake topper. I still have the topper from my wedding cake, but it is seriously over 27 years old! I collect tea cups and tea pots too. I also collect bells and nativities. I have a baker's rack in my living room with my nativities on it. They say up year-round.
