I’ve been thrilled with most of my covers over the course of my career, even surprised by some. I hope one day I get to visit the art department and convey my thanks in person to these talented folks.
I’m delighted to take this opportunity to reveal the cover of my June release, The Lawman’s Oklahoma Sweetheart. This is the third book in an historical series that you can start right now with Laurie Kingery’s The Preacher’s Bride Claim. In May you can continue the story with Karen Kirst’s The Horseman’s Frontier Family. Then in June, it’s my honor to wrap up the epic tale.
I love the sense of sunlight and open sky in this cover. I hope it entices you to try out the finale of a sweeping Oklahoma series.

I, too, am amazed at the covers we get. The art department does a great job. That's a great trip idea, go to Toronto and visit the art department, at least I think that's where the covers are created.
Congratulations on your awesome cover, Allie. Love it!
I, as well am impressed and amazed with the cover work of the LI team. Each in the past three years of my study have been stunning. Allie, your work continues to inspire and mentor my life as I continue towards Historical Love Inspired and Contemporary Series in development. Both FAMILY LESSONS and especially HOMEFRONT HERO have been great examples of both beautiful covers and wonderful stories. Only hope I get the chance to join the HLI family with my first submissions later this summer. God Bless!
Jenny, we are asked to give lots of information to the art department--especially with the historical books. I've had all kinds of experiences; some covers left me scratching my head (MY SO CALLED LOVE LIFE comes to mind) but ended up being big successes, covers that looks just as I pictured them, and others that were surprising.
Steve, thanks for the kind words. I'm glad you enjoy my books. Homefront Hero is a personal favorite of mine as well--for more than just the knitting. Best wishes for that submission!
Allie thanks for answering my questions!
