Snowbound!

click to learn more!
Hi everyone! Lee Tobin McClain here, writing about the romantic joys of being snowbound! Seriously, being stuck inside, by the fire, with your sweetheart... what could be more romantic? That's why I wrote HIS SECRET CHILD. Shy librarian Fern Easton thinks she's going to have a week to herself with her foster daughter, a bunch of rescue dogs, and time to write and paint. The sudden snowstorm that sweeps the Ohio countryside just ensures she'll have privacy... she thinks. And then there's a knock on the door....

Check out what happens when a rugged veteran invades Fern's world, bringing risk and love and a great big secret with him.

To celebrate Valentine's Day, I'm giving away a $10 gift card to a random commenter. Just comment on a time you were snowed in... or, if you live in a warm climate, tell us about what weather keeps you inside with your sweetheart.

I am still waiting on that snowstorm that leaves me snowbound lol. We live right next to the main road. We may be stuck at home for a few hours, but never snowbound. I'm hoping that changes this winter!! One major snowstorm we had, we went to town, and it was very eerie. People outnumbered cars on the road. We were driving in the road and had to move over around the people walking. None of the parking lots had been cleared. When we went to WalMart, only certain areas had been cleared and we drove down one aisle right up to a huge snowback. We had to turn around and find another way out of the parking lot lol. I'd like another storm like that. They are calling for a storm later this weekend in Southwest Virginia. I'm hoping we get it! More time to read!

I live in Arizona, so we don't get snowbound very often. Like never. But we have been stuck at home due to monsoon storms that caused the washes to run high enough that we wouldn't cross. Nothing too romantic about that, lol.

Here in Charlotte, NC, a big storm could leave the entire city snow bound. I wouldn't mind a day or two, but after that, I get cabin fever. Love your cover, Lee!

I live in GA and we don't get much snow. However, we did many years ago when I was working in a large city (miles away from home)...it snowed so hard and quite suddenly that I stayed in a hotel across from my work place rather than trying to commute on those roads.

Love your cover, Lee, and the story sounds fascinating!

It's hard to get snowed in when you live in Florida. We've had snow twice in my lifetime and it didn't stay on the ground very long.
As far as getting "stuck with my sweetie" the only time that happens is when we have a Hurricane.

I just love the snow! We have been snowed in a few times, but not for longer than a day or two. We all drive 4 wheel drive vehicles and love plowing through the fluffy snow. I think I'd miss it if I lived in a warmer climate.

Hi Lee ! Your books sounds so mysterious and exciting! Usually when we are snow bound my husband is the one digging everyone out and I'm usually it's my younger two boys and I that are together. We turned it into an old movie night with popcorn and we watched A Journey to the Center of the Earth and watched Around the World in Eighty Days. We had fun! Jenny

The last time we were "almost" snowbound was this past January. My dad was still out every day as cattle still have to be checked on regardless of the weather. We had been "in" for three days when I went with him to shovel snow away from gates going into fields he hadn't managed to check before the snow got deeper (with a few additional layers of ice). I prayed almost the whole way there and back. It was like being on a really intense amusement park ride (except without the safety regulations). We made it (thanks to GOD) and the cattle were grateful to see us.
Hope everyone stays warm.

Snowbound is an excuse for reading and, when my kids were young, we all read. Sounds like a fun book. Thanks,
Julie
