One of Those Days

Hello
It's me.  Pamela Tracy.
Yeah, I know, most of you only know me in cyber-space.  But, hey, I'm like you.  I drink coffee, sometimes.  I love to read.  I have a husband who rolls his eyes a lot.  My bed is made.  The cat is begging for attention.  Just played my one millionth game of UNO with my son.  Oh, and right now we're studying James in Sunday School.

See, we have a lot in common.

It's been a pretty good, pretty great day.

I woke up (that's always good)
I went to water aerobics (I'm trying to be good)
I cleaned house and I worked on revisions as well as new writing.

I went shopping (noticed during water aerobics that my bathing suit had a small hole)

Cooked dinner.
Wrote some more.

Got great writing news - Yeah!  Jumped up and down.

Then, the pretty good, pretty great day went cloudy.

Got bad writing news.

Total slump, air taken out of my wind, all that.

Margaret Mitchell said, "In a weak moment I have written a book…"

I finally get it.

It's after the book is finished that you have to be tough.

Your post made me smile :)

LOL, I wrote it last night. This morning I'm like, "Gee, why did I get all grumpy."
But, then, I never understood Margaret Mitchell's quote. LOL, writing is hard work. Not for the weak, that's for sure.
Thanks for dropping by jcp

This certainly sums it up, Pam. :)

Yep, as Jill said...you summed it up....lol.

Hi to Jennifer....hope your back is better!

Jill, thanks for stopping by. The quote I used I taped in my ten year old's bedroom. He was feeling a bit bullied by some friends (he's an only. he feels bullied if they don't do what he wants them to do). Not sure he gets it.

Jackie,
LOL, I realized with your post that all the J people stopped by. Jackie, Jill, and Jennifer.

Ha ha! It's "J" day!
I'm sorry to hear about your son, Pamela. I hope things have improved for him.

They'll improve for him when he realizes he's not king of the world.

Keeping up with the PJ kind of postings

Hi Pamela, Jackie, Jill and JCP, Love the account of your day Pamela. Jackie the doctor said I have a bulging disc and I have several weeks of physical therapy do. Thanks for asking Jackie! That is funny about all the J names.

Jill Weatherholt said...

Hi Jennifer, I'm sorry to hear that about your disc. I've had two back surgeries, so I can relate to your pain. I hope you have success with the PT.

LOL, okay, we're all a sisterhood. I've gone through six months of physical therapy for my back. I used to be a competitive softball player - second base. A slide to second ended my career.

I hated the bouncing ball I had to sit on during PT. But I miss the hot wrap massages. LOL

Jill Weatherholt said...

Wow, I'm impressed, Tracy. Competitive softball...I always struck out. :( I blame my ruptured discs on too many ice skating spills as a kid. :)I hope your back is doing better.

I wish I could Say Pamela that I was doing something more exciting but all I did was bend over and threw a blanket onto the bed and bam there went my back. :) Thanks ladies for your loving words you all have bolstered my heart! Jenny

Jennifer,
Right before I turned 30...almost 20 years ago, I went to bed one night and the next morning it was as though I was paralyzed. I couldn't get out of the bed. It was a scary time indeed.

Pamela Tracy said...

It is doing better, Jill, but like Jennifer said, all it takes is a wrong move, and the move might not even be wrong. There are times when I'm sure I need to buy stock in ibuprofen.

Pamela Tracy said...

Jill, that is scary.

Jill Weatherholt said...

I'm happy to hear it's doing better, Pamela. You're right, one wrong move can create a set back. I have to constantly remind myself not to lift things I shouldn't lift. I can be stubborn at times and carry things I have no business carrying. Walking has done wonders for my back. After a second surgery in 2001, I've been pain free. The more active I am, the better. Also, I don't sit for longer than 20 minutes at a time. Take care of yourself.

Did they figure what happened Jill? That would freak me out as well.

I have several appointments set up this month and I have some meds.
The ladies at the PT are wonderful.

Jennifer said...

That sounds like a good idea!

I'm glad you had success with your second surgery Jill. I love walking! I rotate from laying down, to standing, then sitting and some walking. The PT has me on some light exercises for now. Blessing to all you precious ladies, Jenny

Hi Jennifer,
Thank you! When my disc ruptured, my doctor told me "As you age, your discs lose their fluid." Well, I'd just turned 30, so I was a little surprised by his statement. :)
Over the years, I've learned that walking is the best for me. Sitting and laying in the bed, not so much. Prescription pain medication never worked for me and I didn't like to take it. The most effective for me was Aleve. Good luck to you Jennifer.

Praying hard for all you ladies/back issues....I KNOW how it is! My issues started 3 yrs. ago. PT helped me most and a procedure called dry needling......super help. Have used up my PT time, but do exercises faithfully at home. Just can't walk 2 miles a day like I used to; have to take ibuprofen and l/2 pain pill. Mine is AGE....lol.
Praying also for Pamela's son; experienced in that!!
Good day and weekend to all....

I prayed for all you wonderful ladies! Blessings for the weekend! Jenny
