Goodreads Giveaway for June book

Terri Reed here, hope everyone had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend.  A weekend to remember and honor our fallen soldiers.

We had most of my husband's side of the family here for a BBQ.  It was a fun and relaxing few days. My daughter came home from college and that is always a blessing.
Over at the Craftie Ladies of Romance a couple of our authors shared pictures of their military parents. http://craftieladiesofromance.blogspot.com

How did you spend your three day weekend?

Next week my June book from Love Inspired Suspense releases.  To celebrate and to thank readers, I'm doing a Goodreads giveaway for 5 autographed copies of this book.

THE BABY MISSION

An illegal adoption ring—using kidnapped babies—has to be stopped. To gather the necessary evidence, U.S. marshal Serena Summers goes undercover—as a married woman desperate for a baby. Her "husband" is her own partner, U.S. marshal Josh McCall, whom Serena blames for her brother's death. How can she act like a loving wife when she has to constantly fight her feelings for a man she isn't sure she can trust? The closer they get to unraveling the dark web of deceit, though, the more being Josh's undercover wife means putting her life—and future—in his hands.

Valentine's story

Hi all, Terri Reed here, popping up out of a looming deadline to let you know about a fun Valentine story we're writing over on the Craftie Ladies of Romance blogspot.    The story began on Feburary 1st and runs through the 14th.  I'll be posting a segment on the 8th.  Todays installment by Teri Wilson made me laugh out loud!

I recently had my personal blog/web page redesigned.  Check it out if you have a moment. www.terrireed.com

Upcoming a March release, The Cowboy Target.

FRAMED!
For years after the suspicious death of his wife, single dad Wyatt Monroe isolates himself on his Wyoming ranch...until he’s accused of murder. With a body at his doorstep, he’s arrested and Wyatt has only one hope—a blue-eyed, blonde bodyguard. But it’ll take more than skill for work-obsessed Jackie Blain to save her reluctant client, who just wants to be left alone. She’ll have to gain his trust by keeping him and his daughter safe. With their lives in her hands, Jackie is faced with her toughest assignment ever—saving the cowboy and guarding her heart.

A 4 star review from Romantic Times Magazine. See the review below.
Wyatt Monroe is stunned to find his ranch hand, George Herman, dead on his porch. He knows he is being framed for murder, but worries that people will believe he is guilty, as they falsely accused him of murdering his wife. Jackie Blain, a bodyguard and former cop, is called in by her uncle to prove Wyatt’s innocence. Some neighbors are upset at Wyatt for refusing to sign away his mineral rights. Is someone willing to kill those Wyatt loves in order to force his hand? Reed’s fast-paced action will keep readers wondering who and why in this quick, enjoyable read.

Letting Go--Terri Reed

Terri Reed here.  This is a crazy season for our family.   There are only thirty days or so left of school for my kids.  I have a senior who is anxious for it to be over.  Senioritis has hit her hard.   For me, its been an emotional and overwhelming time as we plan for her college education.  She has decided to go aboard to study at Richmond, The American International University in London.  Letting go is going to be hard for me as she and I are very close.
Does anyone have advice? Can you relate?

The Secret Heiress

I have a new release out this month. It hit the shelves yesterday. This is the second book in my Protection Specialists series. In honor of the release I'm doing a Virtual Book Tour. To see the dates and the links to the blogs, click here. I'll be giving a $10 dollar gift card to one randomly drawn commenter during the tour.

On another note, I hope everyone had a Happy and Safe New Year. Did you all watch the ball drop in New York city? I was amazed and glad to see Dick Clark hosting the New Year's eve celebration. The man has had an incredible career.

Research and My New Release - CHRISTMAS GIFTS - Gail Gaymer Martin

Greetings from Gail Gaymer Martin at http://www.gailmartin.com/

When an idea strikes me for a novel, my mind begins to click with characters and plot, but also with setting. Where should this story take place? So when my agent called to say my editor asked if I would be part of a Christmas Duet novel for this year, I thought a moment--but only a moment--and said yes. I love writing Christmas books and I'd been thinking that I'd love to have a new one. Story ideas came fast, a widowed father with 7 year old twin daughters who were trouble, and a teacher. Perfect.

Now where to set the story? A small town was my first thought so I began looking through the Internet for small towns in Northern Michigan along I-23.  I'd driven there a few months earlier to visit relatives and had already considered setting a story in one of these small towns. After investigating small towns on the Internet, I found the perfect spot--Harrisville, Michigan. My husband and I took a weekend and visited the town.

Everyone I meet was pleased to be part of the novel and cooperated fully. I visited the library where many town activities are sponsored and spent an hour or more at the elementary school, touring the building and talking with the principal, office staff, and a second grade teacher. A visit to the Chamber of Commerce provided me with great information especially about their Christmas event, Christmas in the Village. Deidre Gray owner of the gift shop, Maggie’s on Main, answered many questions and served as a liaison, as well as being eager to sell the books in her store, Manny Pompa owner of the restaurant and bakery Flour Garden provided information about the Tree Lighting Ceremony on the highway. Bob and I spent time in the park which provides a scene in the novel, and I drove through neighborhoods taking photographs of houses that I used in the story to create realism. I even called officials to learn their laws about leaf burning in the town.  When I delved into the novel, it was like visiting old friends. I hope you enjoy the novel as much as I enjoyed meeting the townspeople and researching the town.

Holiday Traditions

Okay, I have to confess, I don't like to cook. Do not enjoy it whatsoever! About eight years ago I join a group of ladies from the church were attending in a club called...The Gourmet Dinner Club. Yep. Go figure. I joined for the fellowship and because I love to eat--just not cook. But as part of the club I had to cook. And I actually enjoyed myself. I really enjoyed planning and shopping and decorating more than the actual cooking but since we were in teams of three, it was fun. And I came away from the club with some awesome recipes. One recipe, in fact has become a tradition at Christmas (sometimes Thanksgiving too!)
I wish I could say I made this recipe up but alas, I didn't. But I can share it with you.
This comes from The Pebble Beach Lodge by Gregg Denter, Sous Chef
Italian Sausage Stuffing
1/2 pound butter
1 pound Italian sausage
1 yellow onion, diced
4 stalks celery, diced
5 cloves garlic, crushed
1 tsp fresh thyme
1 tsp marjoram
1 tsp fresh sage
1/4 cup Sherry wine ( I sometimes use Marsala wine)
2 tsps salt
1 tsp pepper
1 loaf bread cubed (really good with sourdough)
2 cups chicken stock
2 eggs
Heat the butter in a saute pan. Add the sausage and brown. Add vegetables, garlic and spices, saute until tender. Add the wine, salt and pepper. Put into a bowl and add cubed bread, chicken stock, and eggs. Mix thoroughly and stuff into a turkey (or cook seperately--which is what I usually do). Cook in oven at 375 degrees until turkey reaches an internal temperature of 160 degrees (or if cooking seperately, for about 30 mins so its nice and hot and the eggs are cooked)

Enjoy!!
