The Secret Heiress

I have a new release out this month. It hit the shelves yesterday. This is the second book in my Protection Specialists series. In honor of the release I'm doing a Virtual Book Tour. To see the dates and the links to the blogs, click here. I'll be giving a $10 dollar gift card to one randomly drawn commenter during the tour.

On another note, I hope everyone had a Happy and Safe New Year. Did you all watch the ball drop in New York city? I was amazed and glad to see Dick Clark hosting the New Year's eve celebration. The man has had an incredible career.

THANKSGIVING WISHES FROM TERRI REED

HI, Terri Reed here to wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving tomorrow. We will be spending it with about 30 or so friends and yet to be friends. A group of people from Good Samaritan Ministries will be gathering together to fellowship and have a feast. We're bringing a ham and a pie. My daughter's the baker in the family so she'll be making the pie. It should be a good time.
On black Friday, we're shopping in the morning and then putting up the Christmas tree! Anyone else put up their tree on the day after Thanksgiving?

I received my author copies of my January book the other day. Its always exciting to hold a new book in my hands.

Writers Weekend

Terri Reed here. I'm just back(well today just back but by the time you read this it will have been two weeks) from a writing retreat at Lincoln City, Oregon with two Rose City Romance Writer chaptermates, Melissa McClone and Jenna Bayley-Burke.
We had a great time writing, brainstorming, watching Michael Hauge and Christopher Vogler teach us about plot and character, and on Saturday during our lunch break, we put our names in the spinning drawing machine for Wheel of Fortune. Had we been picked we could have been on the show! We didn't get picked. Sigh. But it was sure fun to watch.
Here's the traveling Wheel of Fortune bus-- big and yellow, made me think of the Partridge Family -- moves around the country finding contestants. We stood in line for an hour, paraded into the theatre and then we were treated to a hilarious comedy show. Marty, the travel host, had one liners and zingers flying so fast my head was spinning. I actually got light headed I laughed so hard.

RCRW (Rose City Romance Writers) is my local RWA (Romance Writers of America) chapter here in Portland, Oregon. We have a very fun and eclectic group. I've belonged to the chapter since 1993 when I joined RWA. I've held many different positions within my local chapter: VP of Programs, Board Liaison and Contest Coordinator and contest judge. I spent four years on the RWA national board as a Region Director and chaired last year's Literacy Signing event.

For all you aspiring authors out there, check out RWA. There's bound to be a local chapter in your area.

Look for my upcoming January 2012 (can you believe it-2012?)
