Big Island Fun
I went to the southern most point of the US, hiked a mile and a half along a dusty terrain to an amazing cove called green sand beach. In the picture you can't really tell the color of the sand, but up close you definitely see the green hue.
I explored a botanical garden and marvaled at all the interesting and fabulous plants.
I walked on the lava which looked like the top of brownies, slightly shiny with cracks and crevices.
Oh, and the best part was swimming with the sea turtle. I was playing in the water at Hapuna beach when along comes t
his turtle, motoring within arms length of me not the least bit concerned by the people in the water.

Awesome pictures. I've only been to Hawaii once, 24 hours restricted to base. My dad was in the Air Force and we were heading to our new base in Tachikawa AFB, Japan. We lost two engines (1959 we flew on a Constellation prop job) landing at Hickam AFB so needless to say we didn't see anything but the inside of the hanger. I must go back someday!
Thank you for sharing all the beautiful pictures and highlights.
Blessings,
Cindy W.

Cindy, you are so welcome. I would definitely recommend going.
How scary to lose an engine.
Take care,
Terri

Terri,
Next time you go, take me with you! By boat, though. I don't fly.

Sounds like a great trip. I've never been to Hawaii. I should put it on my bucket list. Like Pam though, I don't like to fly. Sigh. Thanks for sharing your pictures. :)

The lava brownies are making me hungry! Hawaii sounds great. I've never been in an airplane and like a couple of others who've commented, I would be scared to fly. I can always watch travel videos, though.

Love the pics, maybe you should consider Seychelles as your next destination for holiday. Very beautiful, peaceful and very inspirational. If I had the means I would have post some pics for you to see.

Your pictures are great. I have never been to Hawaii but I have always wanted to go. I agree the lava does look like the tops of brownies. I look forward to your next book!
