February Is For Romance

Merrillee here. February is a time for romance, and what says romance better than a wedding? These are photos of my daughters when they got married on the beach near our home. Our daughters didn't get married in February, but my husband and I did. We were married on Valentine's Day. We have no digital photography from that day, but here is a recent photo taken at the wedding of one of our daughter's friends.

We will celebrate our thirty-fourth wedding anniversary on Valentines' Day.

In my February Love Inspired book, HOMETOWN PROMISE, my hero and heroine have their first date at a Valentine's banquet.

Do you have any fond memories about Valentines' Day?

Y'all look great! Your daughter is lovely, too, and they look like they're having a blast on the beach. No special "adult" memories of V-Day, but when I was a kid, my mom and I would spend hours together decorating my valentine's box for school. And my dad always showed up with a huge heart of chocolate for Mother and a little one for me. He loved doing stuff like that.

Awwww! You guys are an adorable couple : )

No, I don't have any particularly great Valentine's Day memories because I've never really dated or anything. It was kinda fun when it was so simple and you just had those silly little cards that said "Bee mine?" and expressions like that on it....remember? *sigh* Wish it was still that easy!!

Hannah,
When I was a kid, I got a kick out of the way everyone else tried to spell my name. With all those double letters, most of the time my name was misspelled on all those cute little Valentines.

Merrilee, what beautiful pictures! How lovely your daughters look as well as you and that handsome husband of yours! You're a very blessed woman!

My favorite Valentine's memory is when my husband of then three years sent me roses with a card signed 'To the future mother of my children,' never knowing that my gift to him was that we were expecting our first baby. Our little Valentine's gift turns 24 this year.

Your daughters were lovely on their wedding days. You and your hubby make a wonderful couple.

As for my Valentine memories, my high school sweetheart proposed to me Valentine weekend. This year we celebrate our 37 wedding anniversary. Good things do happen on Valentine's!!
