Do You Like Perfect Women? Gift card #giveaway...

EDIT:  Joy, you're a winner! Please contact me either on Facebook or by leaving another comment. Once I have your email address, I'll send you the gift card.
Hi there! Lee Tobin McClain here, and I have to tell you, I don't love perfect women. I know, I know:
Check it out by clicking here!
I shouldn't make blanket judgments. But women who have perfectly neat houses or perfectly behaved children or perfect bodies are annoying. Or actually, make that intimidating.

I think that's why I write books featuring seriously flawed heroines. I must need to reassure myself that even people who aren't perfect--hey, like me--can find love and happiness with God's help.

In my latest novel, A Bond Fulfilled, I must say that I've outdone myself in the "imperfect heroine" department. Maria Moretti is one of those women who has kept a tight grip on herself and tried to be perfect, and it's totally backfired. Now, she's unmarried with a baby to raise, and she promised her dying mother that she wouldn't reveal the identity of the baby's father for a lot of complicated reasons. But when handsome police officer Hector Santiago moves in right next door, keeping that secret becomes a whole lot harder. Especially when danger threatens...

My question to you is, are you okay with seriously flawed heroines, or do you like your romances to feature upright, always-do-the-right-thing role models? Answer and explain why in the comments (just a sentence is fine) by midnight on January 7th, and I'll choose a random commenter to win a $10 Amazon gift card.

And if you're interested in more imperfect heroines--or in my blog, Flawed. Christian. Woman.--stop by my website. If you sign up for my newsletter, you'll get a free short story that sets up the whole Sacred Bond and Sacred Bond Guardians series.

I love imperfect heroines. I could never relate to the perfect woman because I'm so flawed myself. Besides, perfect people make boring reading! One of my favorite Bible studies was Bad Girls of the Bible. We can learn a lot from imperfection. :)

I like the imperfect heroines and even more imperfect heroes. (Why should the man be perfect.) I like my books to be more realistic. Perfect is boring whether it is in a book, TV show, or movie.

I like the Imperfect Heroines because they are more real. If the heroine is too perfect, I find myself rolling my eyes at the book. :)

I relate more to imperfect heroines. They are more real. If they are too perfect, I don't take the story seriously.

Imperfect heroines are easier to relate to... they are real, easier to approach (in the story), and are just more interesting (seeing them struggle, just try to live life, and end up okay by the grace of God). They are more likable because I don't find compare myself to them and try to live up to what their lives are like.

I'm far from perfect, as are most human beings. Of course, some think they are. :) A flawless heroine is flat and makes for a boring story.

The heroines who have issues to work through or learn from are a good read.

I guess I like BOTH....according to my moods! lol If things are frustrating, I like a nice, calm ending and perfect heroines. If I feel stronger, then bring on the imperfect for excitement.
Thanks for your giveaway. I have one or two of your books I must get to reading.

Me to Jackie! I like to see both and I like when the messed up and the untouched characters build a relationship and help enrich each others lives. Many blessings, Jenny

I like the imperfect heroines, if the character is too perfect, always doing the right thing, the story is unrealistic and boring.

I prefer the imperfect heroines. They are much more believable. We are none of us perfect. My house will never make House Beautiful, I am too busy reading.

I prefer flawed heroines as they are easier to identify with.

I am completely okay with flawed characters because we are ALL flawed in one way or another. The perfect ones are hard to relate to/live up to! :)

I prefer imperfect heroines! I have no desire to read about someone that I could never attain to become...it's too fun to read about flaws and know I'm not the only one out there that can't have the perfect life...but still can be happy. :)

I like imperfect because it's more like real and can have humorous and/or series storylines. I love your Heros and heroines in your books.

I prefer imperfect for we all have our flaws and can relate. Besides they would be boring heroines.
