Pinterest anyone?

Terri Reed here totally confused as I try to learn another social media site.  This time Pinterest.
I signed up for an account.  That's progress, right?
My daughter is a huge Pinterest fan so she's promised to teach me how to use the site. I hope it will help me keep track of photos for my books.  Are you on Pinterest? What are the ways you use Pinterest? Do you like to see the visual aides a writer uses in the writing process? Any advice you can give a newbie?
Curious minds (okay my curious mind) wants to know?

There's still time to pick up your copy of the last book in the Witness Protection series.

I adore Pinterest! I've had an account since it was in beta, so my pins have built up quite a bit! It helps to make sub-categories for topics that you'll end up pinning the most. (Some do this with food, having separate boards for different types of meals). It will make it easier and quicker to find what you're looking for. Another way to do this is to use specific terms in the description on each pin since you are now able to do a search of your own pins only (instead of all of Pinterest). I love looking at author's boards of inspiration for their books.

Here's my link if you're interested: pinterest.com/colorvibrant

Hope you have a blast on Pinterest!

Thank you Heidi, I'll take a look. Sounds like you have it dialed in. Good to know about the author's boards.

I enjoy Pinterest but basically just use it for recipe inspiration and then enjoy looking at whatever else is on there from time to time. I don't spend a lot of time on there. I think it's a fabulous idea though - idea swapping basically! My one daughter is a 3rd grade teacher and she gets tons of ideas for her classroom on it. I have other friends who get other ideas for their professions too. I did get an idea for something for my household that has saved me a lot of time so it's very useful in a lot of ways! Good luck!

I used Pinterest to gather picture of the place where I set the book and pictures of the hero and heroine so the reader can get a feel for the book.

I was hesitant to join Pinterest, but I took the plunge earlier this year. Wow! I'm now awash with wonderful ideas and inspiration.
