Learning new tricks--Lenora Worth

I'm writing this on my brand new laptop. My old Compaq computer was on its last legs--as slow as a turtle and as ornery as an old goat. Now I have a new high speed machine that has a lot of bells and whistles. So I'm learning some new tricks. But honestly, I don't ask for much. I just want a machine that lets me do my job in a quick and efficient way. Writers live by deadlines (they don't call them lifelines!) So we really need equipment that works. I don't like a lot of patience and waiting for a computer to load is frustrating and time-consuming. And don't get me started on computers that freeze up and shut down. That does not make me happy.

I only ask for things that work. Such as a phone that actually has bars and enough juice to keep me from having to shout into a little speaker. I only ask for a computer that actually allows me to write at least ten pages a day and save it in two or three places without any surprises along the way. I only ask for electronics that hum and buzz like well-oiled machines, not old donkeys refusing to take that next step.

See, I don't ask for much--just a good coffee pot, a nice refrigerator and stove, a good washing machine and dryer and air-conditioning. Am I spoiled or what? How did people get along without all of these necessary toys? Oh, I'll let our Love Inspired historical authors explain that one. Me, I'm a futuristic kind of girl. Fast forward and onward. Now if I could just get used to this new keyboard. What is your favorite modern device or toy?

My Keurig coffee pot. I love that thing. Pop in a pod and in about 30 seconds, I have a hot, fresh delicious cup of coffee. Talk about spoiled. :)

I want one of those! My husband gave me another brand one Christmas but the coffee tasted bad. But the Keurig rocks. I've sampled the coffee in stores. Maybe one day!

My laptop. I dont leave home without it. Except to go to work that is. And there, during downtime I write my stories in paper notebooks. When I get home, I transcribe everything to my laptop.

At least I'm allowed to write at work when it's not busy. That's a bonue.

Yes, we love our laptops. I'm enjoying this one. It's much faster than my old computer. I have a mini-notebook too. Love it for travel.

Hi Lenora! I love your doggie picture. How adorable. :) Nothing better than a good cup of coffee and nothing worse than a bad one. Oh, and I'm like you... I don't ask for much either. Every husband's dream, right?

I love my cell phone! I just got a new one that has a touch screen & internet! I often wonder what my grandparents would think if they were alive today. They would be over 100 years old! My grandfather used to say that he bet one day they'd install phones in cars! LOL! What would he think if he knew that we carried them in our pockets!? :)
