Standing in Awe

Hi, this is Janet Tronstad, still shaking my head over the major storms, earthquakes, rains, and blizzards of the past few weeks or so. Is it just me or does it seem like this has been unusually forceful time all around the globe in terms of bad weather -- and we can't forget the Haitian earthquake. For me, it is all a reminder of the power of God. I was humbled when I read about Haitian Christians meeting for services after the earthquake, praising God in the midst of terrible misery. I decided the least I can do it update my list of things for which I am grateful on a daily basis. Shelter and food made the list today. What's on your list?

good post. This year I am so thankful for this house its such a good cool house and strong too.
Im also so thankful I live in an area which isn't prone to natural disasters except maybe bushfires and even then we are fairly safe.

I agree, Ausjenny. A well-built house is a blessing, especially one that keeps you cool in the heat.

Thankful for my mother and my family.

Sheila -- I'm thankful for my parents, too. In fact, they're visiting with me this week. They're both 84 and I'm blessed to still have them with me.

I just got the news last nite that my only niece has lymphatic cancer. She is only 30 years old and has 2 of the sweetest children. I am praying for her healing, but at the same time, I am asking for the strength to accept God's perfect plan.

I am so thankful that the Lord has protected my 15 yr old grandson. He has been out of drug rehab for 6 months and so far, he is doing great. Every nite I ask for protection for him against all the temptations.

Thankful that God never leaves us in good times and bad.
