Meet Me in Magnolia, Georgia!

Missy Tippens, here. And I’m excited to announce my new Love Inspired book, His Forever Love, is on the shelves now! Here’s a little bit about it…

In Magnolia, Georgia, local legend says that a couple who holds hands around the “forever” tree will have an unending love. Even so, Bill Wellington held Lindsay Jones’s hands around that tree years ago...and then left her behind. He chose the big city, and now he wants to bring his grandmother there. But to his amazement, he finds that Granny has a boyfriend—and a vibrant life. A life that includes Lindsay, Granny’s caregiver. Bill never thought he’d want to come home, yet Magnolia clearly has its charms. As does Lindsay, who makes him long for a second chance at forever love.

I hope you’ll take the time to visit my fictional town of Magnolia, Georgia, and meet some folks I’ve gotten attached to (yes, we get to know our characters and kind of hate to see them leave when the book is over!). :)

I thought I’d share a couple of photos of beautiful magnolia trees with you. They were blooming in May when I chaperoned a group of 8th graders on a 3-day trip to Savannah, Georgia. I hope you can see the blooms. Enjoy!

And now, I'd love to hear about your town. Do you live in a small town like Magnolia? Or are you in a city?

Missy,
It sounds like a great read. I'll be watching for it. Great pictures, too.
I've only been to Atlanta, Georgia. Someday I hope to visit a little more of the state.

Compared to Magnolia I live in a large city but compared to Atlanta I live in a small town. However I would love to live in a small town. I spent several years of my life around magnolia trees and absolutely love them. To bad I live in the wrong climate to successfully grown them here where I live. Looking forward to reading "His Forever Love".

I don't live in a very big town, but it's not really "small town" either. We do not have any chain stores(Walmart, Shaws, Price Chopper, Kmart, Borders, etc), just a McDonalds. We have all of the elements of a small town, but it's not really! We have the post office, the library, the school, the market, the church. I like it here. It is a comfortable size - not too big to feel overwhelmed, not too small to feel that your business is everyone's business!

Thanks, everyone, for stopping by yesterday.

Pat, you'll have to come back to Georgia! There's a lot to see.

Ellen, I'm kind of the same way. Mid-sized town. We have magnolia's here, too. They're just about past peak right now, but you can still see the huge blooms. Gorgeous!

Edna, Laurens doesn't sound too small if you have a Belk! :) But like you said, you're out a little bit. I think it would be nice to be out where it's peaceful, but close enough to hop into town anytime.

Hannah, you hit the nail on the head about small towns--everyone knows your business. :)

The one thing my town is missing that drives me crazy is a Chick-fil-a!! It's my favorite fast food, and I have to drive 30 minutes to get it!

But we did just get a Target, which is nice. I had withdrawl after I first moved here. :)

Missy,
Since I do travel a lot and have spent my share of time in the South, I know what a Chick-fil-a is, but I have never had it. We do not have them in Vermont! However, we do have Ben and Jerry Scoopshops here...mmmmmmmmm...!

Hannah,

Ben and Jerry's would do in a pinch. I wouldn't turn it down. :)

Yum!

Me neither! I wish I could go get some now. I just finished the SATs. I got there at 7:45am and finished at 2:00pm! I need a little treat. However, today is FREE ice cream day at Friendly's 12-5!! I think we're going!
Hope you find some ice cream!
