I've climbed a mountain

Quite literally, folks. And it was awful. Brutal, painful, dangerous to an old wimp like me, but in an odd way, it was good. I'm glad I did it. I saw stunning scenery, and pushed myself to the very limit. I prayed and God answered my prayers. We all made it up and down safely.

It was only Mount Katahdin, in Maine, but we climbed from about 500 feet above sea level to near 5,000 feet.

I learned to trust God and myself and better understand what the Apostle Paul said about perservering. I'm proud of myself.

I'm only just getting the feeling back in my legs, but hey, I'm still proud!

congratulations sounds like quite a feat. I am going to Canada and going to see some mountains and maybe climb one in about a week.

Jenny, where in Canada are you headed? Our west? You're sure to see some snow. Out east where I am, we have few mountains and can expect TS Hannah this weekend.
Enjoy yourself!

Barbara, I give you major points for doing it. I've hiked in the hills of New Hampshire but that was many years ago. There's something about being up in the mountains and looking over God's creation that really puts things into perspective. I'd better whisper as I type or my husband will drag me out for a hike.

Jenny,
I had to smile when I read "The sunshine coast" I'm at teh other end of the country, so I know that coastal weather isn't always sunny!
Have fun, though. The mountains are beautiful!
Lisa,
Anyone over 30 who climbs Mount Katahdin should get a medal, as far as I'm concerned. It was by far the hardest thing I've done. And I was in the military doing forced marches, which now seem mild compared to that!
