She lives a mile from the beach, so we will have a lot of fun talking long walks and being lazy. But this will also be a working vacation since I'm on deadline as usual (a blessing that I won't complain about!) Writers are never really on vacation, as we all know. Our minds are constantly writing and plotting and we often talk to ourselves. That gets us lots of strange stares in the grocery store. Or in my case, in the shoe department. That is where you can usually find me--even when I'm plotting angst and conflict! Or thinking to myself, do I really need these shoes? Of course I do. I must go pack--bathing suit, sunscreen and shoes, of course! I'll check in to see if y'all are behaving!Lenorahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18201614257423264316noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5972342285468874854.post-13894042224798561682008-06-11T22:43:00.000-04:002008-06-11T22:43:00.000-04:00ausjenny,Why in the world would you have to pay in...ausjenny,
Why in the world would you have to pay in advance? We can get the other lines of harliquin and I use to order a teen line which came out once a month for a few years.
but the secular bookstores in australia and the supermarkets dont have many if any Christian fiction so it leaves the 2 main christian bookstores which both only carry a limited range of LI books.
also living in a smaller town its hard. WOW!!

How wonderful to hear from all you happy readers.

One of the hardest things about writing is that we rarely get to see where our books go and to whom.

Thanks for all the lovely compliments and thanks for being loyal readers.

One thing was mentioned about wanting more Love Inspireds at the Walmart. Believe it or not, you can really make a difference. Just stop by the courtesy desk and say who's in charge of stocking the Love Inspired books? And then say would you tell them that we need more.

The problem is that our publisher sends our books out to "jobbers" who go to the stores and put them on the shelves. They used to go back and restock books that had sold out. They no longer do that. So if you will say, hey, you're not getting enough, the store may ask for more copies to be delivered of each title since that's it until the next month.

They don't listen to authors--just readers!

Thanks again for all your sweet comments.
LynLyn Cotehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11366375647118584580noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5972342285468874854.post-10274044241829988072008-06-11T11:37:00.000-04:002008-06-11T11:37:00.000-04:00Squires - Thanks so very much for letting me know ...Squires - Thanks so very much for letting me know you enjoy my books. It combines two of my fave things...the Love Inspired and historical romances. I had hoped for this line for a while and was excited to see it become a reality. It would be hard to pick a favorite from the ones I have read so far. I loved Jillian Hart's Homespun Bride and Victoria Bylin's The Bounty Hunter's Bride was just wonderful.

I don't think I have a favorite type of hero or heroine. Ruth Axtell Morren is one of my favorites and it's exciting to see so many of her books lined up.

I think I rather like the hero who's ego needs to be tamed. And for the heroine, I like to see one gaining in God-confidence.

I'd like to see more of a selection available at our Walmart as they only seem to have a few titles on the shelf. It would be great to see a stand featuring SteepleHill only books, unfortuneately I have to sift through a variety of "inappropriate" secular covers to find what I'm looking for. It makes me wonder if others realize that there are actually Christian books there mixed in.

Keep up the good work, and I would love to see more titles published each month.

The site looks fantastic!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5972342285468874854.post-26909738329440340992008-06-10T11:21:00.000-04:002008-06-10T11:21:00.000-04:00Favorite - yes and no. My church Secretary and I are sharing our books back and forth. Right now I am reading Seaside Cinderella by Anna Schmidt. I am surprised by it and enjoying it immensely. I will post reviews once I finish it to tempt other to pick it up too.
One of my favorite authors is Mae Nunn. Her books took me through an ankle fusion which was very difficult for me. What I liked was hardship and romance all wrapped up together in a book. Also faith tucked in without preaching it - daily living. Do I have a favorite type. No - I have read your books and love them. I have read Historical and my first Suspense this year. But anything that says "Love Inspired" has been uplifting and encouraging. I have found other Christian Authors not under Love Inspired that have encouraged me to keep moving forward in life too.
I love Gail Martin, Marta Perry, and just way too many to mention. I read at least 4 a week. I have a hard time keeping enough of them on hand to have one to read.
I enjoy the ones that are sassy and have a lot going on from the first page to the last page. We already know the man will get the woman so I enjoy the ones that are exciting and funny.... and so far over half of the Love Inspired Suspense books are long drawn out affairs.... come on Authors make them as exciting as the plain romance ones. Lyn you are one of my favorite authors and I guess Debra Clopton is next with her Mule Hollow series.
DarcieMarieDarcieMariehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04068206051904566607noreply@blogger.com
